How you were introduced to Clay Target Shooting?
I was introduced to the CTSA in 2003 by the late Piet Smit, one of the old stalwarts of Limpopo Clay Target Shooting
A brief history of your Clay Target Shooting career (noting the disciplines you have shot and which you enjoy the most)……………….
Started out on sporting, but, together with Peter Nieuwoudt, migrated over to ATA/DTL. Still do some sporting as a hobby but mainly concentrating on ATA/DTL at the moment with an eye on the 2018 European Championships
Your commitment to the administration of the sport (include a brief history of positions held on club/provincial committees) ……………………
To make the sport easily accessible to shooters of all ages. Currently the acting chairman of the Limpopo CTSA as well as the secretary of the Limpopo Arms and Ammunition Collectors Association.
Your goals as a CTSASA Executive Committee Member ……………………..
To have an organisation that shooters would be proud to be members of. We are a small province, but looking back at the performance of Limpopo at previous Chairman’s Cup events and our ability to host large events in arguably one of the most scenic shooting venues in SA have shown that we can punch above our weight. This is largely as a result of the excellent work started by Peter Nieuwoudt and this legacy is what I want to take forward on provincial level as well as exco level.
Any other information which may be of interest ………………..
Winter is almost past, beer must be extra cold, clay shooting is lots of fun
